Steering Committee members: Standing Subcommittee (Rules): Standing Subcommittee (Technology): The role and purpose of the Steering Committee is to manage the affairs of the league, to set its direction and expansion, see to its advertisement and management, writing the Constitution, Statutes and Handbooks, and reviewing the rulings of the previous Oversight Committee. This is the ultimate governing body of Team 45 45 League with all rights and responsibilities. (Article III of the League Constitution) League Members may stay informed of potential rules changes by watching this page. Prior to voting results being displayed here, members may make their comments known by notifying any Steering Committee member, who may choose to forward your comments to the Steering Committee. The Committee members will not disclose any details of the Committee discussions. Item 1. T59 Tournament Parameters - Approved Item 2. Editorial revision of Section 12.B. Item 3. Remove the phrase "prior to the deadlines" from Section 10.C, to require posts within 24 hours from pairing posting deadline. Item 4. T59 Playoff Seedings Item 1. Item 2. Editorial revision of 12.B (Get Played Game) Under our editorial revision policy, unless an SC member wishes to bring it up for further debate, this change will be incorporated into the Statutes in one week. Problem – Section 12.B instructs the players to retrieve their game if the bot does not pick it up, but they do not have the Get Played Game button in their forums. Only the TDs can see and use that button to retrieve the game. Solution – Revise the statute to conform to current capability and add instructions in the Players and Captains Handbooks.
Player and Captain handbook instructions To retrieve the pgn game score for posting to the forum: Set ICC variables: "/set messmail 1" (so message will be mailed to you), and In Dasher, type /history <handle>, right click the game and click "mail game moves". Posted 8 October 2013 14 October. SC members suggested changes to 12.B wording and the handbook instructions. Game scores will normally be posted in the game forum automatically. Should the automated collection not work, the players or team captains shall notify the TD, who posts the results, making sure the game can be retrieved, either by ensuring that it remains in ICC's 20-games history of the players or by posting the PGN in the gameforum. If your agreed game time was not posted by the automated collection, notify the TD in the gameforum and he will retrieve the game. Posting the PGN yourself is only necessary if you are afraid the game will fall out of your history of the last 20 games. To get the PGN you can use the mailstored or spgn commands. Type "help mailstored" or "help spgn" in ICC to get more information. In Dasher and Blitzin, type /history <handle>, right click the game and click "mail game moves" (Dasher) or "Mailstored" (BlitzIn). When the game comes to your mailbox, copy/paste the score to your forum. Approved and posted 23 October 2013
Item 3. Remove the phrase "prior to the deadlines" from Section 10.C PROBLEM - All too frequently some players delay making their first posts or responses until near the 2200 Thursday deadline, causing frustration among members who are forced to wait and creating less time to negotiate. Some players have the mistaken perception that they are not obligated to make or respond to offers until near the Thursday deadline, some 53 hours after the forums are generated. CAUSE – Section 10.C reads in part “Offer Procedures - Both players shall make offers to his/her opponent via Game Forum posts as soon as possible prior to the deadlines in order to negotiate a time to play…” It is the phrase “prior to the deadlines” that creates the perception among some that they have no obligation to post until near that deadline. SOLUTION - It is the recommendation of Rules that the phrase “prior to the deadlines” be stricken from Section 10.C, and that subsections iv and v be reversed, giving higher emphasis to the 24 hour response rule. The affected portions of the Section 10 would read as follows
Recommended by Rules Subcommittee in response to player suggestion.
Approved 9-0 25 October 2013 - Posted to statutes 9 November 2013
