Team 45 45 League members sign up to play a serious game of chess once a week. They expect to find a friendly and safe environment. To support that environment the league has developed a system of penalties for everything from forfeits to misbehavior to cheating. Sections 3, 4, 15-18 of the Statutes give specifics of each penalty.

• Reliability Ratings (RR) are used to discourage forfeits of games. At -2 RR a player is given a two- or four-tourney suspension.
• Warning Letters are given for minor infractions of the rules, such as excessive draw requests, takebacks, moretime, consistently arriving late to a game, etc.
• Yellow Cards are given for more significant misbehavior that affects the "peaceful enjoyment of the league" by other members. Yellow cards lapse after six months.
• Red Cards are given for gross misbehavior, for two Yellow Cards within six months, for ICS adjustments to ratings not voluntarily adjusted by ICC, and for suspected assistance in games (CUDS red card). Red Cards call for a one year (four complete tourneys) suspension.
• Double Red Cards are given for a second Red Card and for ICC identified cheating (C on handle or finger note) and cheating on other servers or tournaments. Double Red Cards call for immediate permanent ban from the league.

The table below provides statistics on the various penalties. Percent of forfeits is presented to show forfeit trends from tourney to tourney under the present RR policy.
